I Dodged a Bullet!

July 13, 2015 By Bill

Last week, I gathered all of my Mom’s important papers from her house.

I ran across two notes from her, both in sealed envelopes. Below is the first note. I’ll share the second note in a post after this one.

To Bill Davis

This is Mom. When I die, I want no funeral. Cremate me and put my ashes in the ocean.

I love you

Mom

Well, I got the first two things right but I almost screwed up the third one. I knew she wanted to be cremated and I knew that she didn’t want a ceremony.

But I was struggling with what she wanted done with her ashes. Now I know.

Good thing I didn’t do two of the things we’d thought of:

  1. Scatter them at Stateline. She liked to gamble and I thought that would be a good place. Much better than Arizona 🙂
  2. Scatter them in the backyard of her home.

As you know, once that is done, it’s done. There’s no going back. Speaking of which, I need to contact the crematorium. They haven’t gotten back to me and they’ve had over two weeks…what the hell?

Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this blog.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s difficult to get
that “perfect balance” between usability and
visual appeal. I must say you have done a great job with this.

Additionally, the blog loads super fast for me
    on Opera. Outstanding Blog!
